Working with DFID and the Nepal Police, UNOPS Nepal is implementing the Modernization and Improving of Policing Project (MIPP) to construct modernize police stations, barracks and training centers, improve community and public involvement, and develop an HR system and performance management system for the Nepal police force. Construction of new facilities is the largest component of MIPP. New stations are being built in 12 districts of Nepal, but long distances and poor roads made monitoring and regular visits difficult. To work around this, staff had been using phone calls and messaging apps (Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger) to share photos and get feedback. FieldSight was introduced to help conduct daily monitoring, to enhance these existing communications, and to manage and centralize data collection.
